Thinking locale

Election fever has gripped the United Kingdom and early indications are that Labour Party have a real up-hill struggle to persuade the electorate they are ready to "Rule Britannia".

For the next 6/7 weeks we will be inundated by election promises and it remains to be seen if the new government can present a long-term vision to sort out the:
  1. Tax Burden
  2. Debt Burden
  3. A sensible industrial strategy to take Britain into the third decade of the 21st Century.

Finally

The main thrust of my research and development (going back 25 years and many, many man hours) is drawing to a close. The structure for Surrey has been live for the last few months...

OUR MAIN AIM
We will continue to keep in touch with the smaller business communities in our territory and advise on technical issues, as appropriate, including:
  • Easy access to local business networking, support and how to generate new business referrals
  • Retail support, including customer loyalty and click and collect services for local independent high street retailers and remote rural communities
  • Street level shopping information channels and Street WIFI via mobile phones...

LOW COST OBJECTIVES
If you listen carefully, recent news and comments suggest that the bigger retailers are resettling in "Locale" shopping centres and down sizing out-of-town facilities. We actively discourage "out of town" or "one stop" shopping. It losing appeal as a result of Internet shopping. Our job is to concentrate on smaller independent retailers and specialist shops and create a level playing field without adding you SME/SOHO cost base".

David and Goliath
There are plenty of reasons for Central Government and Big Business to take a long hard look at the value our commercial, environmental and community spirited targets and objectives ... We simply suggest we stand still long enough to embrace the current day values, the needs of the older generations, not just the increasingly mobile demands made by young people and their parents (under 45).
